How to Live Your Best Life as a Pitta
Welcome, Pitta!
Are ready to live your best life in 2021? Then you’ve come to the right place! I’ve got everything you need to flourish in your dominant dosha below.
For those of you thinking, “what the heck is a dosha?,” you need to check out my blog Year-End Review for Vatas, Pittas, & Kaphas for an outline of the Ayurveda doshas. Plus, use this Chopra dosha quiz to identify which dosha you are most aligned with.
When you live your life according to your dosha, you can expect to thrive in more ways than one. You can find doshas in everything: people, animals, food, colors, activities, and more.
That’s why I’ve organized the most optimal exercises, foods, colors, and meditations to help align your inner energetic forces of nature. Pro tip: You’re definitely going to want to save this blog to refer back to all year long!
Exercise
Exercise needs to be your stress release, Pitta. You are already competitive by nature so engaging in competitive sports will only create more tension within your mind and body. The best exercises for you include swimming, jogging, and biking. Yoga is also a great option as it is tri-doshic, meaning its works for all three doshas.
You love wind and water, so anything that can bring you closer to these two elements will be the most beneficial.
Solitary exercises to try: Core stability, pull-back, side body, and pull-up
Food
You love the spice! 🌶 That’s why you need foods that are cooling, hearty, energizing, dry, and high in carbs. Vegetarian foods are the best for your body. Go for tastes like bitter, sweet, and astringent.

Colors
According to Ayurveda, colors possess a healing element that can either align or disrupt your dosha. Pitta is associated with fiery-red, but also has many other soothing colors like softer and cooler shades of blue, blue-green, purple, violet, and silver. Stray away from colors like red, orange, gold, and yellow.
Meditation
Meditation on the breath best suits you, Pitta. As a result of your “Type A” personality, you may experience frustration, anger, and impatience. Meditation on the breath is the perfect type of meditation to balance your dosha.

Remember, Pitta, these aren’t fast and hard rules to live by. Some of these exercises or foods may not be right for you, and that’s ok! For example, I’m a vegan. If my dosha recommends that I drink milk or have butter, obviously I’m not going to add it into my diet.
Now that you are aware of what aligns best with Pitta, incorporate them into your life as you see fit. There is no pressure to immediately make all of the changes in one day nor does this mean you can only have Pitta-friendly things in your life.
Good luck my Pitta friends!
