The Importance of Self Care
I had a busy day:
I woke up at 4am.
I brushed my teeth and meditated
I cultivated yeast for a loaf of bread.
I boiled chicken and rice for my dog.
I walked in nature.
I worked with a client.
I worked on my web site.
I worked on my social media profiles.
I practiced yoga.
I went to the beach.
I meditated.
I read a book.
I talked to my boyfriend.
I worked on my grad school stuff.
I worked on my emails.
I worked on my texts.
Soon, I’ll roast some veggies for dinner.
I’ll drink some tea.
I’ll text my boyfriend.
I’ll snuggle my dog.
I’ll sleep.
I have to balance work with self-care or I GO FUCKING CRAZY Y’ALL!!!
If I am working more than I am taking care of myself, I drain myself.
What’s the tired version of hangry?
That’s what happens to me.
Even when I’m doing work I absolutely love (and I LOVE everything I’m doing right now), I still need to take care of myself MORE than I need to work on myself and my business.
Or else nothing works.
That’s why I run my business the way that I run it: on my terms.
