Day 16

How do you know what is your truth?

Not just what is right in front of you. That’s a good place to start, though.

I’m talking about your highest truth.

What is your ultimate truth?’

The values around which you frame your life?

Your morals?

Your ethics?

Here is what I know to be true, based on spending my childhood studying Christianity and my adulthood studying yoga and Buddhism:

We are all the same.

All suffering is rooted outside of that truth.

If I stay rooted inside of that truth, I will not suffer.

I do not want to suffer, so I will treat every interaction as though it is my self.

But not my human self.

I don’t always like my human self.

She’s kind of a slob and a procrastinator. She can be impatient and vindictive.

But my highest self is compassionate, kind, and acts only out of joy.

That’s what your truth is: compassion, kindness, and joy.

If it is anything other than that, it is suffering.

Here’s what to do about it:

Hooray! A chant and some light reading.

Sweet! Grab some wall space and a blanket, Here’s a gentle yin sequence.

Glorious! sweat!

 Keep in touch, y’all!
