How to Go Viral
Here’s the link to the Facebook ad I boosted that went viral 💛 Here’s how I interpret the numbers:
I have spent $8 to reach 77k people.
57% of them have engaged with it.
1700 people have gone to my web site.
7 of them have signed up for my email list.
I paid $1.14 for each of those emails.
Around 1% of that list will buy something that I’m selling, eventually.
The average amount of money made from every dollar you spend building your email list is $40.
If those numbers hold true, I can expect to make $320 on this little experiment.
The average amount of money any client of mine who is on my email list gives me (between retail purchases of $10 to clients who sign year-long contracts in the high five figures) is around $125.
You guys, my email list is SMALL. I have around 300 people on that list.
But every time I send an email, 1% of them buy something from me.
That means I make around $375 every time I send an email.
This is powerful information for me. I LOVE data, but I also know that I can make more than $375 working with a client than if I spend that time sending an email.
So I don’t spend my time crafting an email if it would be better spent working with a client.
But it’s still worth it to me to have access to that email list for when I’m between clients. So I put a little bit of effort into it. $375 worth of effort.
This is how I prioritize my time.
I’m working on getting that number up. (I’m taking Dallas Travers course right now to do that.) I want to make $3000 every time I send an email.
Do y’all see the funnel?
Facebook -> web site -> email -> product -> purchase
The trick is to figure out how to keep people moving along your pipeline 😊
