The BEST Natural Deodorant: Fenugreek!
I have not worn deodorant or anti-perspirant for many years, but it wasn’t until the wonderful sprouts sellers at my local farmers market clued me into fenugreek that I (and perhaps those closest to me) truly started enjoying my deodorant-free lifestyle. Why?? Ch-check it:
Aside from making you smell DELICIOUS, fenugreek has also been proven by western medicine to be:
antidiabetic
antiobesity
anticancer
anti-inflammatory
antioxidant
antifungal
antibacterial
galactogogue (i.e. lactation: it helps mamas make milk!)
Here’s what you need to sprout your own:
Soak a tablespoon of fenugreek seeds overnight. Drain the next morning and rinse them off twice a day for 2-5 days. Store them upside down at an angle so all the water drains out - sitting water = mold.
They will begin to germinate (i.e., grow tails of health, like little green spermies!) within a day or two, but I like them to get a bit of green before I chow down, so I usually refrigerate them in a damp paper towel after 5 days.
Add them to EVERYTHING!! I love them especially with avocado toast, curries, and soups.
