Day 25

“Why can’t you just let it go?”

I’ve been asked this enough times to have been inspired to do some research (i.e., therapy) as to why, exactly, it is that I have a hard time letting things go.

It’s a human condition, wanting things to be a certain way, different than how they are or were.

It’s a symptom of attachment, of wanting to hold onto to how things are, even the things that are hard.

How often have I found myself replaying a fight, trying to look at it from a different angle so that I’m right in a different way?

My ego loves to replay that stuff, really examine all the injustice of it.

Plus, I’m a Capricorn. We hold a grudge.

My therapy and my spiritual studies have taught me:

Suffering is rooted in resistance.

But it’s not possible to just let things go.

Eventually, you will just drop it.

Until that happens, you have to let things be.

That’s when everything changes, just as it needs to be.

Hooray! Let’s learn how to let things go.

Sweet! Here’s a little something for your hips.

Glorious! It’s mac and cheese weather, y’all. Let’s get cozy.

 Keep in touch, y’all!
