Day 26

Your suffering is rooted in your resistance.

So what are you resisting?

It’s always the same thing:

the present moment.

More specifically, how the present moment feels.

Especially if it feels uncomfortable.

When it feels good?

When you’re falling in love? During an orgasm? When you get a promotion? A standing ovation?

Oh yeah, it’s easy to be present for those moments. Soak it in.

When you’re breaking up? Attacked? Laid off? Booed?

A little more difficult to stay present, and somehow, those are the moments we replay over

and over

and over again.

The ones that aren’t happening, for which we weren’t present.

Because it was UNCOMFORTABLE.

Shit, dudes. Sorry to be the one to tell you: that’s the point.

The point is to experience the discomfort and the comfort on the same wavelength.

It’s so hard.

It’s one of the reasons we do all three of these practices, as often as we allows ourselves.

A few minutes to be still.

Several minutes to move the body, to dislodge those stored memories in a way that feels like a stretch.

A dedicated amount of time to do something nice for your mind, for your community, for your home.

We practice feeling present and comfortable in those moments so we can be present and comfortable in all the moments.

Especially the hard ones.

Because it makes them easier.

Hooray! Let’s do some simple breathing.

Sweet! Let’s roll out your hips.

Glorious! I’ve got a podcast for you!

 Keep in touch, y’all!
