30 days of self care splendid yoga

Day 21

If you can say “Thank you” to the hardest of circumstances, you will find peace.

Your suffering comes from your resistance to what is.

The antidote is gratitude for what is.

I come back to this often in my own spiritual study, because y’all, it’s so hard to be grateful for the hard stuff.

It’s hard to be grateful for the panic attacks and when my dog poops in my bathroom and when a friend disappoints me.

It’s hard to say, “Thank you,” through the gritted teeth of anger.

It’s hard to feel gratitude through heartbreak.

But it’s all there for a reason: to soften you.

To build your compassion.

Because if it’s this hard for you, for everything you have to be grateful for, how hard must it be for everyone else, who doesn’t have everything you have?

Hooray! A simple mantra for gratitude.

Sweet! This advanced flow is inspired by my two knee surgeries and the gratitude I have for how I can and cannot move my body now.

Glorious! Let’s do some deep cleaning.

 Keep in touch, y’all!
