An Evening Routine
Sleep is one of my favorite things to do. I crave more of it, constantly. But then I get in bed.
And I do all the things.
I flip through my phone.
I put on the netflix.
I snuggle the dog.
I think about, you know, everything.
I wake up tired.
Rinse and repeat.
We love sleep. So we have to train our bodies how to go to sleep. Let’s create an evening routine. Give yourself an hour before you want to be asleep (remember the sleep cycling from week 1??), but do it in any particular order. Here are some ideas:
Take an epsom salt bath.
Take 15 minutes to tidy - dishes, laundry, whatever you can get done that will make your morning easier.
Prepare anything you need for the next day. Put your keys on your lunch in the fridge. Lay out your clothes.
Drink a cup of chamomile tea.
Take a magnesium supplement
Plug your phone in away from your room, or in a drawer if you must keep it in your room. Put it on airplane mode.
Put your legs up the wall for 20 minutes on the floor.
Get in bed when all you’re ready to do is sleep.
